About this experience

Learn to spin your own yarn! Heather is an experienced spinning teacher and is excited to share her passion for spinning with you! Join us for a two-part class to learn the basics of wheel spinning. You are encouraged to bring your own wheel if you’ve got one– but if you don’t, we’ve got your back! Get in touch with us to learn about renting a wheel for this class and beyond.

This class will take place in two sessions:

First Session: We will cover the basics you need to know to get spinning comfortably: drafting, treadling, and management of all your wheel’s tension knobs and bands. Between this class and the next, you should produce two bobbins of single-ply.

Second session: We will learn how to ply our singles together and wash the resulting yarn.

Both sessions will begin at 2:30 and end at 4:30.

Materials: You will need at least 4 ounces of wool top/roving. Please do not bring wool or fiber from home. A 10% discount on supplies is offered to students in this class.
