Learn to spin your own novelty yarn! Join Heather Seevers in this intermediate wheel spinning class and create your first skein of core spun yarn. Core-spinning is a process by which fibres are twisted around an existing yarn to produce a sheath core structure in which the already formed yarn is the core. Heather is an experienced spinning teacher and is excited to share her passion for spinning with you!
For this class, you must be able to comfortably spin a single ply and be familiar with plying. You are encouraged to bring your own wheel if you’ve got one– but if you don’t, we’ve got your back! Get in touch with us to learn about renting a wheel for this class and beyond.
If you will be bringing your own, you must have a spinning wheel with a larger orifice and a sliding hook flyer (brands include all Spinolution wheels. Majacraft little Gem or Aura. EEW 6.0 or 6.1 electric wheels. Ashford E spinner , and Ashford Kiwi [Jumbo flyer works best]).
